The American Senior Health Education Foundation, AMSHE, is a 501(c)(3) recognized non-profit charitable organization established to assist older Americans. Our focus is education, advocacy, healthcare awareness, and service.
A primary driver for the creation of AMSHE was to help fill a large Medicare confusion-gap with sorely needed knowledge, counseling, and quality education.
Most people know they will receive Medicare benefits when they reach 65 but know little about those benefits. While Medicare has supplied an enormous amount of digital and printed information, many retires can end up more confused and with a host of unanswered questions. This can leave them at higher risk for fraud and at the mercy of clever marketing ploys or disingenuous sales people.
AMSHE helps by getting seniors on a solid foundation of knowledge with easy-to-understand information and educated guidance with a strict rule of no selling during any AMSHE educational event. This approach helps give seniors comfort and confidence that they are receiving solid information to make the right decisions.
Medicare is a great blessing and benefit but has exposures and gaps that can be costly if unnoticed or ignored. There are special windows of opportunity, deadlines, and time periods that affect your choices and can have long-lasting effects to the cost and potential quality of your care. There are also extra benefits and money-saving strategies to be reviewed.
AMSHE is here to provide trusted, stress-free assistance in understanding these choices. All of our instructors are licensed and experienced professionals that volunteer their time teaching AMSHE courses.
